This workshop was created with the idea of creating experiences that will drive connection with people who want to share and learn from one another. Forging relationships, connecting with others, and learning more about our craft is what Forest + Falls is all about. WE GENUINELY WANT EVERYONE TO WALK AWAY WITH A NEW SENSE OF FULFILLMENT, INSPIRATION AND KNOWLEDGE. 

Forest + Falls will be filled with hours of learning opportunities from some spectacular photographers that we all know and love. We will have some incredible styled shoots RANGING FROM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY ALL THE WAY TO EDITORIAL AND COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY to make sure our campers walk away with some rad images for their portfolio!

THE DATES ARE APRIL 23-27, 2017 ARRIVING AT THE CAMPSITE SUNDAY, THE 23RD, AND LEAVING THursday MORNING, THE 27TH.

THE WORKSHOP TAKES PLACE AT FALL CREEK FALLS STATE PARK. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT, FALL CREEK FALLS IS THE TALLEST WATERFALL (256 FEET)  IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE US.. THOSE TRAVELING TO FALL CREEK FALLS STATE PARK WILL NEED TO FLY INTO NASHVILLE, TN AND THEN DRIVE TO THE CAMPSITE, APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS FROM NASHVILLE.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?

THE PRICE OF THE WORKSHOP IS $1400 WHICH INCLUDES FOUR NIGHTS OF ACCOMMODATION, THREE FULL DAYS OF SPEAKERS AND OF COURSE, FOOD. WE ALSO PLAN ON GIVING AWAY SOME GOODIES! YOU CAN RESERVE YOUR SPOT WITH A $400 DOWN PAYMENT. REMAINING PAYMENT WILL BE DUE BY FEBRUARY 1ST WITH INVOICES SENT OUT IN JANUARY. 

WHERE ARE WE GOING TO SLEEP AND EAT?

WE WILL BE SLEEPING IN SMALL RUSTIC CABINS WITH BUNKS INSIDE. YOU WILL GET TO ENJOY THE PERFECT SPRING AIR OF EASTERN TENNESSEE, OUT IN THE WILDERNESS. WE ALSO ALLOW AND ENCOURAGE TENT ACCOMMODATIONS IF YOU PREFER A MORE AUTHENTIC CAMPING EXPERIENCE. 

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ATTENDING?

WE ARE ALLOWING UP TO 150 PEOPLE TO ATTEND. BUT FEAR NOT, WITH 15 SPEAKERS AND STYLED SHOOTS SET UP IN SMALL ORGANIZED GROUP, WE LIKE TO THINK EVERYONE WILL STILL HAVE A PERSONABLE EXPERIENCE! 

WHERE DO I FLY INTO AND HOW DO I GET THERE?

WE TOTALLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE FLYING INTO BNA ( NASHVILLE AIRPORT) AND CARPOOLING WITH OTHER ATTENDEES FROM OUR FACEBOOK GROUP THAT WE WILL EXTEND AN INVITE TO UPON REGISTRATION! IF FOR SOME REASON WE CAN'T FIND YOU, PLEASE JUST CONTACT US SO WE CAN CONNECT YOU! 

WHAT TOPICS WILL BE COVERED?

WHILE WE HAVEN'T LOCKED DOWN ALL OFFICIAL TOPICS THIS EARLY ON, WE DO KNOW A GREAT HANDFUL OF THE CONTENT THAT WILL BE TAUGHT. SUBJECTS SUCH AS BRANDING, MARKETING, POSING AND DIRECTING, SOCIAL MEDIA, MANAGING A PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO, WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY, CLIENT CONNECTION, COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY (AS WELL AS OCF!) , DATA BACKUP AND MANY OTHER INSPIRATIONAL TALKS WILL BE OFFERED. 

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

YOUR CAMERA- DUH! WE RECOMMEND EVERYONE BRING THEIR OWN BEDDING, PILLOWS AND BLANKETS and toiletries. Think of it as glamping! Just in case you want to see a preview of what the cabins in the group camp look like to get an idea, check them out Here! In addition to this, we do RECOMMEND bringing alternative power sources or adapters for car charging for small electronics and camera battery chargers, laptops etc. While you will have power in the cafeteria and conference rooms, the cabins have no power. But fear not, the average temp this time of year at FAll creek falls is low 80's and mid 50's-60's at night, leaving the perfect camping weather! 

 

What type of photographer is F+F for?

So glad you asked! we like to think F+f is for everyone. Even if you are just starting on in your business or have been at it for 10 years, there is always something to learn and there are always people to meet. going to a place where we can share our fears and doubts with others who share the same emotions is an invaluable experience in itself. Even if you are still getting technical ropes down, we still feel the workshop offers other vast amounts of knowledge that are better learned earlier than later! 

What will I eat?

Simple! Food! But more specifically, we will have a menu for all dietary restrictions as well as alternative options for everyone! We like to think our caterers are the bomb.com and that everyone is going to love the food! WE definitely worked hard to find something that goes beyond your standard cafeteria food! 

How will the styled shoots be?

So glad you asked! You know those shoots that are like 30 photographers fighting for the same shot while no one demonstrates how they work with their subjects? This won't be that! WE plan to have a speaker at each of the styled shoots to demonstrate how they work with the models/subjects so they may push you to step out of your comfort zone and see things differently. However, you will still get to play around and get your shots! We plan to have an hour and a half of rotational instructing followed by 2 hours of free for all shooting with the large amount of styled shoots we planned. Depending on size of the camp we anticipate around 15 different shoots! 

 

Will there be free time? 

Well duh! We definitely want to give people the chance to explore the amazing state park and forge new relationships! We plan on finishing up early enough every night so that everyone can get back to camp and enjoy the company of EACH OTHER. Oh, and if the season allows, we do plan on campfires and s'mores!
